Howdy Fort Worth!

There's just something about Texas. Maybe it's the cowboy boots. Maybe it's the smell of BBQ brisket at 10am. Or maybe it's watching a longhorn bull strut his stuff down main street. You'll find all these and SO much more at the Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, TX.
I absolutely fell in love with Fort Worth as soon as I got out of the car. The smell of BBQ took over my nose! Cobblestone streets marked the way into the stockyards where there were plenty of shops and general stores to visit. Sean and I stopped to get our magnet of course!
While you're checking out the scene, don't forget to search for little treasures along the way.....John Wayne has an exhibit to visit, and you can have your picture taken with a real live longhorn. And they are BIG! But don't forget to head down to the cattle call where the longhorns walk the main street for everyone to see. Check the local posting for times, but 11:30 and 4:00 were the 2 times when we were there. It was very cool to see but get there early to get near the front.
If all this shopping and walking makes you hungry, you won't have trouble finding some yummy food at the stockyards. You can opt for a regular sit down meal. They have fast food places. And they also have places where you can order to-go, and take your food to picnic areas to eat with larger groups.
The Fort Worth Stockyards is a great family oriented place- bring the kids and enjoy the day outside. Go say hi to a cowboy and listen to Patsy Cline for a few hours. I promise you'll be in a good mood!
Safe Travels!
