Inside the Richard NIXON Presidential Library

I'll be the first to admit, when Sean mentioned about going to the Richard Nixon Presidential Library for a visit, I was like, "eh". But I'm so glad Sean insisted we go. I have never been to ANY presidential library, and was under the assumption it would be similar to a museum with Nixon's things on display.

And there were some of Nixon's memorabilia on display. But the library is filled with SO much more! We learned about the Nixon family and how they laid roots and raised their children in California. There's lots of information about Nixon and his rise in politics to the presidency. And then the history of his presidency on the country, and the world for that matter, is all available for visitors to read and learn about.

The library is full of fantastic details of world events, interesting reads of communications between high ranking officials, but also has these gorgeous "First Lady Gardens" that surround the property. All of it available for the visitors to see and experience.

Along the backside of the gardens, you come across the Nixon family homestead, where Richard and his brothers were raised in a small house made by Mr. Nixon and others in the community from a manufactured "kit". The house is well maintained and wonderful to see.

As you wander a little further towards the exit of the gardens, you see the gravestones of both Richard Nixon and his wife Pat, lying side by side. They reside on a slight hill overlooking the reflection pool.

Knowing what I know now about presidential libraries; I will definitely plan to visit another one! You should too and SEND US YOUR PICTURES! We'd love to see where you went and what you saw!
