Let's talk about going fast and having fun! You WANNA check out Ozello Marina in Crystal River and book an airboat ride with Captain Billy. Full disclosure, Sean and I have actually done 2 airboat rides with Captain Billy we love him so much!
โOzello Marina is situated right in the Nature Coast and gives the spectator a first hand view of the beauty this shoreline has to offer. Billy is awesome at getting started out of the marina with some safety precautions.....but then it's FULL THROTTLE.
โโAnd we're FLYING. The coolest thing about an airboat is that you're not really "IN" the water. The enormous fan in the rear of the boat is lifting and pushing at the same time. So, the boat can literally skim over seagrass, and other obstacles, AND can maintain high speeds in the shallow waters.
Once we make our way towards the Gulf of Mexico, we run into some dolphins that want to play. Captain Billy is familiar with these dolphins and knows just the trick. We run some circles as the dolphins follow and even REV the engine to see how fast these mammals can go! AMAZING!
